EOTC Week

Just a reminder that it is Education Outside the Classroom week next week. We are really excited and it will be a very busy week in the Kiwi Team. Please make sure you have lots of rest ready for our action packed days! If you haven't paid the $35, just a reminder that this needs to be paid this week otherwise your child won't be able to join us!
Thank you for all the parent helpers.. We might just have enough now, however, if you are still available to supervise children next week please let me know.

School production

What an awesome night it was, the children were so excited about being on stage and sharing their song and dance. We had been practising for weeks and the children had been working so well to learning some tricky German words! Didn't they do well? Here are some pictures Room 9 on the stage...

Peer Recognition Certificate

Every Friday Room 9 children nominate and then vote for a person in the class who they believe have been doing one of the ABC's a lot over the week. This is a great way for the class to really think about their own choices at school and realise that doing our ABC's benefit everyone around them.
The children really take ownership of this certificate, they decide who will get it and they all sign the certificate before it is rewarded to someone in our class. I have been really impressed with the thought process the children are using to decide who will get it and why. They realise that it is not about nominating their 'friends' but someone who has been doing good things. They are able to describe why the person should receive it too.

Diwali Celebration

Last week it was Diwali. To celebrate we read a big book about Diwali and learnt about the special food that is eaten during this time. We were lucky enough to sample some of the treats when Nandini and Hamish brought some in for us to try, they were very yummy!
